Before you can bring your new companion home, we will help you arrange a meet and greet with the pet and their foster family. The foster family is a wealth of knowledge about the pet and can help guide you to the perfect match! This is when you will pay your adoption fee and sign the contract as well.
Once you bring your new friend home, expect an adjustment period of a few days to a few weeks depending on the animal. Please remember that adopted animals will require training and patience while they adjust their new home. We are happy to offer tips and tricks, as well as help you find a wonderful trainer in your area.
The Foster Farm animal rescue has lovable dogs and cats, and small animals of all shapes, sizes and ages. Your chances of finding a wonderful companion who matches your lifestyle and family are excellent!
About 25% of dogs in rescue are purebred. The rest make up the best selection anywhere of unique, one-of-a-kind mixed breeds (from private owners or rural animal shelter). Mixed breed dogs are often healthier, longer-lived, more intelligent, and are more stable in temperament than purebred dogs.
Many pets end up at our rescue because of circumstances beyond their control. They’re victims of a death, illness, divorce, a new baby, or a move that didn’t include them. A second-hand pet in no way means second-rate. Most of our residents are healthy, affectionate animals. Many have already lived with a human family and have the basic training, socialization, and cooperative skills they need to become part of your household. The staff at TFF can give you great insight into a pet’s personality. We evaluate each dog’s behavior upon arrival and become familiar with their disposition. This valuable information helps us make optimal matches between homes and pets, and helps you make you the most appropriate adoption decision.
Another advantage to adopting is that rescued animals are a real bargain! An adoption fee is much lower than the cost of buying a dog from a pet store or breeder. Our adoption packages include spaying or neutering for adult animals, so you won’t have to pay for the cost of surgery. Our pets are given a physical exam, vaccinations, and are dewormed. We also include micro-chipping to help you locate a lost pet.

"I grew up with pets (dogs) and have always loved animals. I feel that I am in the best place financially and emotionally to care for a pet, and have waited until I was in this stage. I currently work from home and would be able to spend a lot of time with the pet. I am a very affectionate and loving person, and would enjoy the companionship of caring for and sharing my life with an animal. My partner and family are also animal lovers and would be willing to offer care for the pet if needed. While this would be my first cat, I am very excited about the idea, willing to learn, have done my research, and look forward to offering this pet a good life."
"We're looking for a pet to become a part of our small family! We don't have any children, but would need a dog that you feel would be good around small children, as we have a nephew under the age of 10 who visits from time to time. Adopting a dog is not something we take lightly, we've waited a long time until we feel that we are ready and have the schedules that permit dedicated training time and being with the dog as much as possible. Our goal is to give a dog a fulfilled live with lots of exercise, game play, affection and socialization. Our preference is a small/medium size dog given our lack of fenced in yard, but are open to larger pups depending on their overall activity level. We've already researched training programs in the area and plan on enrolling as soon as reasonably possible and have been reading up on methods of positive training for dogs."
"I am looking for a dog who will want to get outside for walks and other gentle-to-moderate outdoor time--we're not running marathons together but also not just walking around the block. I would like to give a dog a stable home with a friendly cat companion. Luna likes dogs having grown up with them in her early years and now she just tries to escape the apartment to see the neighbor dogs when they're in the hallway.
I'm good pet owner for a few reasons, but I think it all goes back to considering pets family, not disposable or toys. Our cat is a family member... who sometimes racks up medical bills because she has bad teeth. It happens. No different for a dog. I'm prepared to treat a new furry friend as family."
